Did you know that if you're of low to moderate income, you can get down payment assistance if you're a first-time home buyer? Of course, you must qualify. The first time home buyer program has income limitations where buyers income cannot exceed 80% of the area median income (AMI) as defined by HUD. In addition the buyer would have to complete a HUD-certified Homebuyer Education Course through VHDA or NeighborWords certified course. This program is also limited to certain locations as well. Qualifying locations are Albemarle, Charlottesville, Fluvanna, and Greene Counties.
